New Blog

Well, I’ve finally changed my blog - or maybe I should say that Jonathan has done it for me! Beyond the 4 Walls is gone. I’ve simply named the blog Lyn Hallewell (yes, original I know). I’m going to be using this for all posts I do about all aspects of my life, so it will no longer be about just exploring faith. Skip over what you don’t want to read!

Jonathan has designed a new banner for me, although he is not 100% happy with it yet and will probably tweak it a bit more. He has almost finished the latest web site he has been working on. You can view it here. I’m very impressed with it. He designed the logo for the restaurant too. The information on the site is not complete as he is still waiting for some stuff from the client. Also, he is not happy with the busyness of the wording on the site, but that is what the client requested. I’ve decided that these graphic guys are never happy with what they produce - they can always find fault somewhere!

Edited to add - My feed and blog address will remain the same.

Brother Maynard has written a great post about the $700B and there is also an interesting article here h/t Jordan Cooper

It’s this desire we must understand. More than any other possession, houses are what people use to say, “Look how well I’m doing!” Given the financial anxieties and indignities suffered by the American middle class, it’s hardly surprising that a lower-middle-class child who grows up in a small house feels a burning need to acquire a bigger one.

I’m going to be tweaking my blog a bit over the next few weeks. I’m going to be adding some extra pages to my blog so that I can blog about homeschool - maybe getting the kids to do some - and also probably do one for knitting, photography and other crafty things. I don’t want seperate blogs I’d rather keep everything under one roof so to speak as it is all part of who I am. I don’t want to compartmentalize my life. However, I’m aware that some of my readers won’t be interested in, say, knitting. I want to keep this main page for my spiritual thoughts and life journey.

So, often I come across posts where men are asking where the women are in bloggosphere. Well, we’re here, there are plenty of us. Maybe this is just another case of men are from mars and women are from venus. I find women bloggers share so much more of their lives within their blogging it is not just an egostitical trip or theological debate. It is real life.  For those of you who question where we are check out some of these great female bloggers and feel free to add your own in the comments.

…… and so many more.
