So, we heard from our lawyer …

…. it looks like Canada is not going to happen in 2008.  Somehow the high commission in London have lost all of our paperwork. They claim that they have not received our updated medical information. We sent it special delivery, signed for, so we know that they did receive it on September 10, we have proof from Royal Mail that it was delivered. Basically they’ve lost it within their building somewhere. So, we have to re-submit everything. This means going back to the ed psychologist and education department for their reports (we have copies but they want originals). This info then has to be delivered to the doctor who undertook our medicals. He then fills in a form and it goes on to Canada House. It will probably be almost two weeks before they receive everything now. BIG SIGH. Two and a half months have been wasted waiting for something that was never going to arrive. Please pray that by some miracle they find our paperwork. This whole process saga is turning into one very unfunny joke.

Good grief! You poor people being strung along and along…I’m about ready to whoop some butt on your behalf.

(And yes, Cindy, I could do better than that, but again, polite company and all).

What disheartening news. We’ll keep praying. I know when we decided to move (just from the west side of Saint John to Quispamsis) we thought it would all happen fast but then it took almost 2 years to sell our house. Hardly worth comparing to your situation, but there were times I would break down and cry. Now looking back I see God’s timing was better than mine. So even though your situation is much more complicated, I hope that seeing God’s timing in it ends up being a part of your story also…but I do pray that the time is SOON!

I’m truly sorry this happened to you. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like time/energy has been wasted over useless crap. Lord, please accelerate this for them.

I would write some letters, as they need to take a greater level of responsibility for this. We had something similar happen. Took some work, but they fast tracked things as a result.

Yes, we’re thinking of doing that, but will wait to see what CIC have to say for themselves once they receive our mail tracking number on Monday. Did you write to just the office Kim applied through or to anyone else?

I wrote to EVERYONE- local politicians, federal level too- even if they ignored me. Was careful not to antagonize, but clearly stated that we were being made responsible for their mistakes.

Peace,
Jamie
