Is EVERYTHING that happens in the world God’s will? I kind of struggle with that one.

Jeff has tagged me for the meme started by Brother Maynard - what is your favourite book of the bible and why? To be honest I’ve been having trouble answering this question as I don’t have a particular favourite book, I have quite a few! I enjoy reading the Psalms because they are so honest and real. Not only are they full of praise to God, but they are also full of the “woes of life”. I enjoy reading Proverbs and Ecclesiastes as they are full of much wisdom. Time and time again I find myself going back to Genesis and Exodus and reading about the patriarchs. I also love reading Isaiah - the prophecies of the coming Messiah - I could read them over and over again. Philippians and Acts stand out in the New Testament.
I have to give an answer though … I’ll go with the gospel of John, in particular I like The Message version. There is something about John’s gospel that is missing from the other three.
Consider yourself tagged!

Jason Clark’s blog theme this week is “A faith to live for … a faith to die for?” From Jason’s blog …..
Who owns our bodies? What is worth dying for? How do we/can we die when as soon as we open our mouth to say we’re a christian everyone else around us dies of boredom, rolling their eyes in apathy? Where does martyrdom fit into our faith in a post 9/11 world?
Craig Hovey, author of To Share in the Body will be guest writer this week. Do stop by, read and share your thoughts.

I’ve been quite slack since returning home. I must admit that I have not even looked at my Google reader, and in some way I have not even missed reading through blogs. When I spend time away I become aware of how much time the computer sometimes takes up in my life. Not so good is how quickly I slip back into the pattern once I return home.
We’ve had an up and down day today again. Following the jublilation at our Canadian immigration medical request, we have become painfully aware that they could turn us down due to Ben’s autism. We’ve got a letter from our paediatrician stating that he receives no therapies - hence will cost the Canadian health care system zilch; we are also planning on asking our GP to write a letter stating that he has not seen Ben for anything autism related in over two years, and again to confirm that he receives no intervention. We hope that this is enough for the Canadian high commission. Our medicals are set for Tuesday 3 June, we’d really appreciate your prayers and that they see favour on Ben, TIA.
On a side note I’ve got the very tacky Eurovision Song Contest on in the background - got to love all of those awful songs, costumes and tactful voting! The UK are doing dismally as usual ![]()

Just a quick post to let you know that we returned from Canada this morning. We’ve had an awesome time - will share more later. I’ll go through my comments over the next few days. Feeling a little sleep deprived at the moment as we had a night flight which landed in London just after 9.30am this morning.
Great news though - we have returned home to an email informing us that the Canadian High Commission want us to take our medicals for our permanent residency. If we pass them, then we should have our visa within the next two months - yey ![]()
