Trumpet - JT Devotion Day Eleven

“When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city” Joshua 6:20 (NIV)

The symbol today is a trumpet/horn for the Jesse Tree. The people of Jericho did not want Israel to be their master, so they closed themselves in. They were foolish and their hearts were hardened to the Lord. No war like preparations, and the faith and patience of the people increased, as they knew that all victories were from God. Priests carried the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant and marched around the walls of Jericho, with many men following. On the seventh day, when commanded, the people shouted up for God had given them the city. Deliverances must be expected in God’s way and in his time. It is important as Christians that we put on our armour of God and look to guide to guide us and deliver us in times of spiritual attack.

Today, if you feel like you are under spiritual attack, then read through Ephesians 6:10-18 and put on your armour of God. Pray to God for his help, shout verses out, or read out some psalms. Remember that the people of Israel shouted out a prayer, they cried to heaven for help, and the help came. You can read about the fall of Jericho in Joshua 6:1-20
