Inconveniened?
Whilst reading through Brother Maynard’s random acts of linkage yesterday I came across a post on Cerulean Sanctum called How to tell you’re not a Christian (even if you think you are) The post simply said:
“You never let the gospel inconvenience your lifestyle”
Ouch! I haven’t stopped thinking about this post since I read it. How often can we truly say that our lifestyle is inconvenienced by the gospel? I can’t actually day that that happens to me a lot. Maybe sometimes I don’t recognise the inconvenience? Last night we were talking about when God disrupts our life - maybe we’re crazy, but we actually want to see a lot more of that. In some ways today started off with a lot of disruption, the computers went down at church, and everything was simply d0one without PowerPoint and all that malarkey. Maybe that was God? Jonathan was preaching this morning on the Glory of God. In his talk he spoke about how we have tried to pigeon hole God’s glory and only let it out of the box when it’s convenient for us. He challenged us to spend more time seeking the presence of God, to expand our expectations of where we can sense him, to seek him wherever we are whatever we are doing. Through doing this we will be more aware of God’s presence, and will see more disruption (inconvenience) in our lives.
How about you? Does the gospel inconvenience your lifestyle?

“Does the gospel inconvenience your lifestyle?”
ugh. probably not nearly enough.
ummm, convicted dang it.
Lyn,
Thanks for reflecting on what may be the shortest post I’ve ever written at Cerulean Sanctum. I guess I may not need to write epic posts after all!
Blessings.
the trick s, not only to let God inconvenience you but also to take on Philippians 2:14:
Do everything without complaining or arguing.
