God Bubble
I am encountering a lot of people at the moment who seem to have a brand of Christianity which I find hard to embrace. These are people who want themselves and their children to not be in the world - kind of in a God bubble instead. They don’t want their children to learn about other religions or the ways of the world. Obviously everyone lives their life the way they feel is best, but surely this doesn’t mean isolating ourselves from society? I think children should learn about other religions, as this will firstly help them to understand why Jesus is our saviour, but it will also help them when conversing with people of other faiths. The world isn’t the way God intended, which we all know, but hiding children from things that happen in the world surely isn’t beneficial? As adults and children we need to become more aware of, and active in, situations in the world such as slavery, child trafficking, child labour (who made most of our clothes?), poverty, famine etc. We can’t live in a God bubble and shut the world off - as I’ve written this though, I’ve realized that some of the church is like this too. The church needs to teach about these issues and get really involved in them ….. and be relevant in the world.

I second that *Amen*. It’s a culture of fear, I tell ya. The slippery slope and all that jazz. If we actually engage, we might “become like them”, at least on some levels, that’s the fear.
