I guess there is that human thing about wanting sucess, money etc in all of us - like you wrote, a feeling of worth. What do you think of a four day working week? A friend of ours works for a big architect company. A few years ago he changed to a four day working week. He is still manic 4 days of the week, but has that extra day to a)for R & R and b) a bit of extra family time, which he felt he was missing out on before. I’m glad you made the break Paul. In the end for a variety of reasons like me, my faith and my marriage about to break down i quit that job and got a much more balanced one in the public sector... looking back i have to say that a lot of what i did was my own choice, out of my own pride, need to feel worth, dreams of money and making it big - i guess i often co-operated in the system as much as i was co-opted by it!
