I’m someone who connects with God within creation. I love nothing better than being surrounded by beautiful scenery, taking a walk by the sea or a river, looking at flowers etc and just feeling totally awe struck by God and all of his splendour. Having said that I am not a particularly creative person - I often joke that that part of my brain does not work very well. I can hear all of you artists screaming at me now! However, over the past week I’ve been feeling very inspired to start painting. I have all of these abstract images in my mind, which I feel like I want to try and articulate. The cynic in me doesn’t expect that they will end up how I imagined them, but one thing I’m learning about is that art isn’t about perfection. I’ll never have a exhibition at the Tate gallery, but I think this is something which God is stirring within me at the moment, maybe to get creative along with creation (hope that makes sense) and I’d love to see more art, poetry etc used in church - my vision of church is so different to how it all is, but I guess that’s another post. I’ll have a go and see how I get on!

Dave Lynch has a good video on his blog about Christian television evangelists - well worth a look if you haven’t seen it already. Do read the post above which is about how one person really got drawn into the tv evangelist thing, and lost a lot of money. Thanks Dave for posting this.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some women who I can dialogue with? Preferably the emerging kind! I just want to have some safe conversation with other women looking at their faith, church etc. I love reading the blogs of various emerging men, but would like feminine input! I dip into Maggi Dawn and Wendy Cooper now and then - anything else good out there?

I just found out today that I passed the last module I took with the Open University, which was looking at the oceans. I’m pleased, it was a hard course. I’ve got the first of my teacher marked assignments due in next Wednesday for my current course (Environment) which I’m dragging my feet about! Anyway, just a little glimpse into my life as a student!

It’s the spring equinox to day! Winter has officially ended - could it take this cold snap we’ve been having this week with it?! I’m not a winter girl - sure there is beauty in winter - but I feel a lot bouncier when the days are lighter. This is what we have to look forward to now lighter mornings and evenings, clocks go forward at the weekend. In creation we see the cycle of life start up once again after the dormancy of winter. Sorry to those of you reading this is the southern hemisphere, means the end of summer for you ![]()
