Colts coach

I thought it was great when I was reading through CBC’s website this morning and came across this quote by Tony Dungy, the coach of this years superbowl winning team, the Indiannapolis Colts:
“I’m proud to be the first African-American coach to win this,” Dungy said during the trophy ceremony. “But again, more than anything, Lovie Smith and I are not only African-American but also Christian coaches, showing you can do it the Lord’s way. We’re more proud of that.”
Leading up to the superbowl I read a lot of articles that said that this years superbowl was a milestone as Lovie Smith (Chicago Bears coach) and Tony Dungy were both African-Amercian head coaches, and no superbowl until now has seen both teams have African-American coaches. I thought Dungy’s quote was great, as he is recognizing that he is the first African-Amercian head coach to lead his team to win the superbowl, but he was also saying, “what’s even better is that we are both Christian, and following the Lord.”
