Laura Cloth

We have Sky tv, and on it you can access games to play on the television. Ben came across a Lara Croft (Tomb raider) game yesterday - which was very child friendly - lots of mazes etc, no blood and gore. Grace saw him playing and said to me “Who’s that lady?” I told her and then she disappeared upstairs. A few minutes later she came back down dressed in her bikini (which is a crop top style one) and she had a t shirt underneath it. She came bounding into the lounge and announced “I’m Laura Cloth!” It was so funny!

Good nights sleep!

We saw Ben’s paediatrician yesterday, and she prescribed him some melatonin for his sleeping - we were so overjoyed!! Ben was asleep by 9.30pm last night, which to some of you may seem late, but his “normal” sleeping time without the meds has been 11.00pm. Jonathan and I got an hour to ourselves last night before we went to bed! It’s been years since we got some of the evening together! We are flipping overjoyed!!

Getting our house in order

On Sunday I was looking out of the kitchen window whilst washing up. Along the back of our house there are a line of tall old trees. I noticed there was a bird in one of them tending to her nest. She was darting all over it (the sides, underneath etc) and was fixing it, I guess mending any holes which had appeared. The bird kept herself really busy for quite some time. As I watched I realized that she was getting her house in order. I felt that God was saying that we need to get our houses in order too. Not only our individual homes, but our churches as well, when God’s house in in order I think we will really see him.

Nativity Play

It’s that time of the year again when all mad parents across the country are cramming school halls full to see their little darlings perform in the school nativity play. We went to see Grace’s this week, it wasn’t my favourite of all the ones I’ve seen, but the children did a great job. Our entertainment began when we were waiting outside the school to be let in to the hall. Parents in front of us were constantly complaining about the fact that each family was only allowed two tickets this year, instead of the four from previous years, which meant that Aunty Doris was very ticked off that she couldn’t come, in fact, she’s writing a letter of complaint!

During the performance there were the usual mishaps, like the child who forgot their lines and the ones with stage fright - who can blame them, they are only 4-6 years old! One king tried to make a quick get away, but was met with the loud voice of another king saying “where are you going, we’re supposed to stay up here!” My favourite moment this year had to be when one of the silver stars shouted out “I need the toilet!” Grace enjoyed herself, which I guess is the main thing. Personally, I can’t wait until next year!!
